Former Jit singer and Zimbabwean artist King David, formerly known as Baba Harare, returns with his highly anticipated second gospel album, Revived & Restored. Following the success of his first gospel project, Repentance, this 10-track masterpiece offers listeners another spiritual experience.

The title also shows the album’s overall impact. The melodies and harmonies seem infused with divine power, giving new life to weary souls and strengthening the listener’s connection to faith.

Revived & Restored speaks on fear and shame, emphasizing how these emotions are often used as a behavioral control tool. Speaking about the project on social media, King David reflected, As Christians, we should sit comfortably in the knowledge that our creator is not in the business of shaming us. He loved us before we were in our mother’s womb. He loves us enough to revive and restore us.

This powerful message is also woven throughout the album’s lyrics and arrangements.

The album opens with Kwaziwai Mose and Level RaJosefa, setting an uplifting tone that allows listeners to dance and bask in the belief that they are restored in the name of God. This is followed by 24/7, featuring Tanto Waive, a track produced by Tadiwa Moroka (Tadexx Made It), which brings a refreshing blend of gospel and contemporary tunes.

The fourth track, Ngatipembere, features Dorcas Moyo and was produced by Nyasha Timbe, and adds an emotive depth to the album. Another standout collaboration is Shame on You, where King David partners with Kudzie Nyakudya to deliver a powerful message on redemption and grace, reggae style.

The sixth track, Muri Mutsvene, features gospel giant Blessing Shumba and is produced by Kuk Beats. It further elevates the worship experience.

King David’s collaboration with Zimpraise on Hatirwe Nenyasha brings a percussive and choral grandeur to the project, co-produced by Munichie. The eighth track, Ndinofara, featuring Minister Michael Mahendere, injects danceable energy, showcasing the diverse range of gospel expressions within the album.
