The 1960s classic hit "Joromi" by highlife maestro Sir Victor Uwaifo, released under Premier Records, is back with a new twist and given a new lease of life with an innovative approach.

Though the classic hit is not the music making waves, the collaboration with AI artist Mya Blue birthed by Afrobeats producer Eclipse Nkasi adds an unexpected and futuristic touch to the timeless song.

The AI artist, Mya Blue, brings a distinctive element to the track. With her synthetic yet captivating vocals, she adds another dimension to the remix.

The use of AI in music production is still relatively a new idea that has not been widely accepted, and Mya Blue's involvement showcases the innovative spirit of the project.

According to Eclipse Nkasi, “We did not just want to create an AI-influenced work like our first project; we wanted this to be original in all ways. So, we took our time to create something unique. As a producer, this is one of the most challenging projects I have done, and the ability to maintain the original sound and have the legendary Sir Victor Uwaifo’s voice on it was the most exciting part.”

This remix effortlessly blends the original melody of “Joromi'' and Sir Victor Uwaifo’s voice with contemporary sounds and production techniques. Eclipse Nkasi, the creative mind behind the birth of Mya Blue, carefully created this piece, ensuring that the core of the original track remained intact and untouched while giving it a fresh, new appeal. The remix further reinforces that ‘legends do not die, their works live after them’ and that Sir Victor Uwaifo’s legacy continues to influence generations of musicians and creatives.

Speaking in a press release by Premier Records, the CEO, Michael Odiong, talked about his company embracing technological advancements and Innovations and the effort of the record label to keep the legacy of their artists going; “Music is innovation and we must always be open to innovations. Some might be bad, some good, but they all make their impact if well used. We have survived for over 60 years because we are open to innovations. This is one of them. We believe that our legends never die. They might not be physically present, but their voices continually live on forever. As a label, it is our duty to keep the voice of our artists going using new and innovative ways”, he said.
