BioEbenezer Obey is a veteran Nigerian musician, singer, and band leader.
He's considered one of the most influential and successful musicians in Nigeria, and often referred to as the "Chief Commander."
He began his musical career in his hometown and later moved to Lagos in the mid-1950s to pursue his passion.
Obey is known for modernizing the Juju music genre by infusing Yoruba drumming, Western-style guitars and drum-kits, and multiple talking drums.
He formed The International Brothers, later renamed Inter-Reformers, and released several hit albums under the West African Decca musical label.
He has also released over a hundred albums in his career.
Asides from music, Obey is a philanthropist and the General Overseer of Decross International Ministries.
