Sonja Herholdt is an award-winning South African singer, actress, and television presenter whose work spans Afrikaans pop and gospel styles. She began performing at a young age and later trained as a teacher before fully committing to music in the early 1970s.
Her breakthrough came with “Ek Verlang Na Jou,” a release that achieved gold status in South Africa and positioned her as a major voice on radio.
Throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, she released several successful albums, including "Sonja," "Harlekyn," and "Waarom Daarom," earning repeated SARIE Awards for Best Female Artist.
