Bio
Benard Michael Paul Mnyang’anga, better known as Ben Pol and sometimes spelled as Ben Paul, is Tanzania’s leading R&B artist and a key figure in the development of Bongo Flava. Born in 1989 in Dar es Salaam, his musical journey began at the Tanzania House of Talent (THT), and he rose to national fame in 2010 with the breakthrough hit "Nikikupata," which marked a new chapter for “Swahili Soul.” Over nearly two decades, his catalog has grown to include major hits such as "Moyo Mashine," "Sophia," and the acclaimed collaboration "Muziki" with Darassa. Ben Pol’s work has earned him multiple Tanzania Music Awards for Best R&B Song and Songwriter of the Year, as well as international recognition through AFRIMA and AFRIMMA nominations. Beyond music, he serves as a UN SDG Champion and ambassador for WWF and WildAid, using his influence to promote environmental conservation and social initiatives across East Africa.
