Trompies, formed in Soweto, South Africa, in 1993, is a pioneering Kwaito music group comprising Eugene "Donald Duck" Mthethwa, Jairus "Jakarumba" Nkwe, Mandla "Spikiri" Mofokeng, and Zynne "Mahoota" Sibika. Rooted in the Soweto township, the quartet emerged after completing music studies. With their 1995 debut album "Sigiya Ngengoma," Trompies became central to the Kwaito movement, achieving widespread success with over half a million records sold. Beyond their music, they've excelled in artist management and production through Kalawa Jazmee, their record label. Notably, their 10th studio album, "Delicious" (2014), received acclaim and garnered nominations at the South African Music Awards and the 2021 Music Kwaito and House Music Awards.
