BioAfricando is a unique musical project that originated in 1992 with the aim of bringing together salsa musicians based in New York and talented Senegalese vocalists. Initially, the project involved reimagining Latin classics, with the lyrics sung in Wolof, a language of Senegal, or a blend of Wolof and Spanish. As the project evolved, it expanded its repertoire to include African classics, which were given new life through the infusion of Latin rhythms and instrumentation. This dynamic fusion of Latin and African musical traditions proved to be a remarkable success, capturing the hearts of listeners. Over time, the project broadened its scope to encompass musicians from various African countries, performing under the collective name "Africando All Stars."
