BioCrossingpoint was a South African-based hardcore punk band formed in 1998 with band members Ross Turpin, Richard Phipson, Raymond Douglas and Brandon van Eeden (leader).
They were known for their positive message in their lyrics, and their music was a combination of heavy metal, rock, and punk. The band initially focused on themes like sexism, animal cruelty, and personal responsibility in their lyrics.
Despite not being on a major music label, they gained popularity in South Africa and internationally. Crossingpoint embarked on an American tour in 2006 and also toured South Africa with international bands.
The band unintentionally became standard-bearers for the Straight Edge movement in South Africa as all their members were straight edge.
Brandon van Eeden, the guitarist, was featured in an article in the South African youth magazine Blunt detailing his straight edge lifestyle.
Crossingpoint played their last show on July 24, 2010.
