BioIn 1998, the musical partnership of Swedish fiddler Ellika Frisell and Senegalese kora player Solo Cissokho gave birth to the ensemble known as Ellika & Solo. Their debut album, "Tretakt Takissiba," was a remarkable fusion of their distinct musical traditions. They continued their collaboration with the equally captivating "Abaraka! Tack!" albums. Two albums, "Abaraka! Tack!" and "Now," showcase their masterful blend, captivating audiences globally and winning accolades like the BBC World Music Award. In 2013, the duo expanded to a trio with the inclusion of Mexican percussionist Rafael Sida Huizar. From WOMAD to Glastonbury, their dynamic live performances are testaments to the magic woven when diverse musical roots harmonize.
