BioIn 2006, the JariBu Afrobeat Arkestra was established, drawing inspiration from the renowned Fela Kuti's Afrobeat. However, the band was determined to create a fresh sound that they termed Neo-Afrobeat.
Their debut LP, Afro Sound System, was released in 2009 and was well-received by audiences.
Since then, the Japanese label Soul Garden has been a natural fit for the group's music.
Following their debut success, the band released a new single on Soul Garden, which was a cover of Aretha Franklin's beloved funk hit "Rock Steady." Thereafter, a sophomore album, Mediacracy, in 2012.
The band's notable members are Masamichi Ishikawa and Yuji Okumura.
