They sing mainly in their native Lingala and in French, Dutch, and German. The group was previously called “Nouveau Testament” before being renamed to Makoma after being established in Europe. They have released several albums including “Nzambe na Bomoyi” (1999), “On Faith” (2002), and “Na Nzambe Te, Na Bomoyi Te” (2005). The music group has received several recognitions and awards, including Best African Group at the Kora Awards 2002. Nathalie Makoma left the group in 2004 to pursue a solo career.
