BioSugardrive was a South African rock band that gained popularity for their dynamic music that evolved from riff-heavy alternative rock to a fusion of pop, dance, and jazz elements. With albums like "Belly Full Under" (1993), "Hey God, It's Me" (1995), and the trance-pop-influenced "Sand.Man.Sky" (1996), they earned five nominations for the prestigious South African Music Awards (SAMA) nominations and won three. The pinnacle of their success came with the release of the album "When I Died, I Was Elvis" in 1999. Despite their achievements, Sugardrive disbanded in April 2001, with members pursuing individual projects.
