Bio
The Tagoe Sisters, comprising twin sisters Elizabeth Korkoi Tagoe and Lydia Dedei Yawson from Ghana, are a gospel music duo known for blending traditional Ghanaian gospel music with contemporary elements. Their songs revolve around themes of faith, hope, and love. Early in their careers, they collaborated with Hannah Tsia Mensah (I am Three Sisters) and served as backup singers for artists like Felix Bell and G Man. In 1983, they joined the Open Bible Church International and crossed paths with the Advent Heralds, including their mentor, the late Rev. Francis Akwasi Amoako. Among their musical accomplishments are the albums 'Nyame ye Kese' (1987, composed by the Advent Heralds), Orekyekye, and Stay in My Heart (1988). They have garnered several awards, including the 2010 Ghana Music Award for Best Gospel Group and recognition at the 3Music Women's Brunch event in 2021.
