BioWu-Tang Clan is an American hip-hop collective formed in Staten Island, New York, in 1992 by RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God and Masta Killa. The group established its identity through rugged production, martial-arts imagery, street narratives, and contrasting MC styles. Its independently released debut single, “Protect Ya Neck,” generated underground attention and secured an agreement with Loud Records that allowed members to pursue individual recording deals while maintaining the collective. Wu-Tang Clan released its debut album, "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)," in 1993, introducing a raw aesthetic that influenced hip-hop’s production and lyrical direction. The group expanded its reach through acclaimed solo projects, including Method Man’s "Tical," Raekwon’s "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…," and GZA’s "Liquid Swords." "Wu-Tang Forever" followed in 1997, reaching number one on the Billboard 200. Subsequent albums include "The W," "Iron Flag," "8 Diagrams," and "A Better Tomorrow."
