Ghanaian upcoming artist Alodia Kusi-Gyamfi, popularly known as AlorG, has released his debut project, Down I’m A Rebel.

AlorG delivers a masterful exploration of human experiences, creating a narrative that is both deeply personal and relatable to many of his listeners. The 8-track album is a testament to his growth and determination to forge his path.

Announcing the release of the project on his Instagram, “I worked on this EP for over a year and it harbors most of the emotions I felt and things I experienced during that period. Pain, Betrayal, Rage, Growth, Heartbreak, Loneliness and Paranoia”, AlorG said. The album has amassed over a million plays across streaming platforms.

The project begins with "Alcohol," a narrative that sets the tone for the rest of the album. AlorG’s lyrics are confessional, laying bare his struggle with vices. It’s a brave move that paid off in spades, garnering over 300,000 plays across streaming platforms.

"Only God Knows" comes in second. The Afrobeats-infused track highlights his reliance on faith as his beacon. He powerfully explores trust, betrayal, and the pain of being surrounded by people who only want a piece of your success.

As the EP progresses, AlorG’s storytelling ability takes center stage in the third track, "Sober." The track is an Afrobeats classic that highlights the appeal, consequences, and guilt of destructive vices like chasing after women, drinking, and smoking. It’s a poignant exploration that is both personal and universally relatable.

The track seamlessly blends into the fourth "Diana Knows." This track shows it’s not all darkness and despair. Here, he recounts the importance of supportive friendships, the struggles he faced and the power of perseverance, reaffirming the message of resilience in the face of adversity.

Beginning the other half of the project, AlorG lays bare his emotions in "Lonely and Paranoid." It’s a haunting exploration of heartbreak and longing, a feeling that lingers in the shadows of our souls that we can identify with.

"For Di Road," which sits sixth, is one of the album's highlights, with over 50, 000 plays on Spotify. The pre-released banger comes with explosive log drums, an undeniable piano influence, and lyrics hinting at the hard lessons picked up along the way. It’s a demonstration of his ability to create music that is both catchy and meaningful.

Coming to the end of the project, the final two tracks, "Chameleon" and "Down I’m A Rebel," are a double dose of Afrobeats magic. The former talks about the harshest realities of the journey to success, abandonment, and betrayal while the latter is a declaration of independence, showing readiness to forge his path.
