"Vetse," the debut album by the Malagasy musical ensemble, Njava, perfectly captures the Malagasy culture. The 10-track album features a variety of slow and mid-tempo songs with a focus on traditional instruments and vocal techniques from Madagascar.

Five siblings—two sisters and three brothers—make up the Malagasy musical group, "Njava." The group is named after their father, a musical prodigy. Though the five siblings have been singing for a long time, they only became famous internationally in 1995 after a stellar performance at the WOMAD Festival. They usually sing about exile, societal struggles, and traditional rituals and celebrations.
