BioSuper Diamono De Dakar, also known as Super Jamano De Dakar, was a Senegalese music band formed in 1975, consisting of ten members from Dakar. The group started with traditional West African music but later switched to an Afro-Cuban and pop-influenced sound, calling their music "Mbalax-blues." Various singers led the band, including Mamadou Lamine Maga, Musa Ngum, and founding member Omar Pene. The group is known for their music, which addressed issues important to youth, such as unemployment, corruption, and inequality; this in turn earned them recognition as the "first truly local pop style" by Billboard Magazine. The Super Jamano Group toured extensively throughout West Africa in the 1970s and 80s, producing many successful solo artists before disbanding in 1991 due to its members pursuing solo careers.
