BioThe Afro-Cuban All Stars, led by Juan de Marcos González, are a Cuban band that performs a unique blend of Cuban music styles such as bolero, chachachá, salsa, son montuno, timba, guajira, danzón, rumba, and abakua. The band achieved international acclaim with their 1997 album "A Toda Cuba Le Gusta," which was recorded during the Buena Vista Social Club sessions and featured a talented lineup of musicians including Rubén González, Orlando "Cachato" López, and Ibrahim Ferrer. The success of the album prompted the production of Buena Vista Social Club, which earned the group a Grammy award. With the release of a documentary by Wim Wenders featuring the Cuban artists and their music in early 1998, the group's popularity skyrocketed.
