BioLes Bantous de la Capitale, or Bantous Jazz Orchestra, is a legendary Congolese musical group. Formed in 1959, they popularised the Boucher and Soukous genres and played a crucial role in the country's musical history. Co-led by saxophonists Dieudonne "Nino" Malapet and Jean Serge Essous, the band gained fame with their dance-inspiring hits. Notable early members include Jean Serge Essous, Edouard "Edo" Ganga, Célestin "Célio" Kouka, Daniel "De La Lune" Lubelo, Nino Malapet, Papa Noel Nedule, and Saturnin Pandi. The band has released several songs and albums, including the hit album "Les Merveilles du Passe." Despite personnel changes and government policies affecting the group, Les Bantous de la Capitale persevered and continued to tour and record with various singers and guitarists.
