BioThe Funkees is a Nigerian band formed in the 1960s and known for their unique blend of highlife, funk, and rock music. The band was an offshoot of an Army band in the Nigerian army.
Shortly after the Nigerian civil war, the band members relocated to the United Kingdom and had their big break, and their fame spreading around and back home.
The group's decline would begin during their Nigerian tour and would eventually split with every member going solo.
