The Soul Brothers, a South African mbaqanga traditional musical group, was established in 1976 and remains the oldest and most active African traditional group in South Africa. Initially known as the Young Brothers and founded by Tusa Mthethwa and David Masondo, they achieved significant success in 1976 and changed their name to the Soul Brothers. For about a decade after their formation, they dominated township pop music. Their current lineup includes Moses Ngwenya, Maxwell Mngadi, Sicelo Ndela, and Thomas Phale. In 1990, they embarked on their first international tour to the UK and Europe, and since their inception, they have recorded over 40 albums.
