BioThe All Stars were a South African kwaito supergroup formed in 1999 by legendary producer Arthur Mafokate under 999 Music. Created to showcase the label’s top talents, the group featured Queen Iyaya (Queen Sesoko), Zombo (Tebogo Ndlovu), Nestum (Zanele Nyakale), Stitch (Lucas Setwaba), Power, and Purity. Their music fuses soulful vocals, lively rap verses, and energetic township beats that captured the joy and unity of post-apartheid South Africa. They released their only album, Kwasa Kwasa, in 1999 a 17-track project highlighting kwaito’s danceable rhythm and community spirit. Songs like “Kwasa Kwasa” and “Ilitshe” became fan favorites. Although short-lived, All Stars represented the golden era of kwaito and 999 Music’s creative influence. Today, Mafokate, Queen Iyaya, and Nestum continue to work in entertainment, while Zombo and Stitch are remembered for their lasting impact on South African music.
