BioNKD was a South African girl group formed in 2006 by Idols SA season three contestants Veronique de Lange (Nicky), Kesha Charlton-Perkins, and Deidre Visser. Known for their rich harmonies and energetic pop sound, the trio quickly gained national attention. Their debut album, What’s That Noise? (2006), featured hit singles such as “What I Believe,” “Don’t Miss You,” “Crazy,” and “I Want You Back.” The success of What I Believe brought them widespread airplay and solidified their place in South Africa’s pop scene. NKD performed at major events including Miss South Africa, Idols Live Finals, and high-profile corporate shows for Coca-Cola and MTN. They received the People’s Crystal Award for Best Newcomer in 2007 and earned nominations at the South African Music Awards and YOU Magazine’s Music Stars of the Year. The group disbanded in 2009 after Veronique pursued a solo career, but NKD remains remembered for reshaping South African pop music.
