BioPlush is a Cape Town-based acoustic rock band that was formed in 1996 and gained prominence after winning the National Battle of the Bands in 2002. Their debut album, "All That Is Should Be," marked their entry into the South African music scene, featuring hits like "Tainted" and "Today." Tragedy struck in 2005 with the death of band member Chas Smit, leading to a temporary disbandment.
Lead singer Rory Eliot's solo journey and a renewed commitment to the band's promise to Smit paved the way for Plush's comeback in 2007. Their single "When Grace Grew Tall" topped the charts, signaling a triumphant return. The band's resilience and musical evolution are evident in their subsequent albums, like "Rage On" (2007) and their self-titled album "Plush" (2011). Although the reason wasn't public, sadly, the band disbanded in 2014 after taking a final tour.
